I've been collecting troll comments with the intention of using them in an artwork - after all, "everything is material". My initial idea was a performance piece involving "re-speaking", but I also wanted to make something visual. I've been thinking for a while about making a dress, I thought why not create a costume for the performance. I've not quite figure out the design or how this will look, this is a very emotionally responsive creative process with little logic or planning to it - but I started by writing out the text onto canvas material, adding gestural marks in multi-coloured brush strokes. I'll figure the rest out later.

I love how they have the tenacity to give me a nickname which I don't even like....
I also made a larger piece with words from a friend of mine "how can someone be so cruel?" which seemed appropriate in this context. The lettering is perhaps too big for the dress but could perhaps provide a backdrop - I haven't figured this much out yet. I used my hands to create prints onto the fabric which gave the paintwork an impression of violence.
