Marcelo's Portrait

I found Marcelo's portrait tricky for two reasons; firstly, the photograph I was working from had a very intense shadow on the right side of his face; secondly, his colour choice were very similar - white and black and yellow and orange, so there wasn't much opportunity for variation of the different sections. As a result, I think I some bad choices with too many sections of similar colours too close to each other.

His expression came out very melncholic, which wasn't intentinal, but I quite like it.

If I made the portrait again I would alter some of the colour choices, but overall I think it's still a very engaging portrait which captures Marcelo's intense, vibrant and enigmatic personality.

"Wow it's incredible it's totally unexpected but so perfect. I love the colour arrangements (and colours of course!) and there is such an interesting look in my eyes that I recognise. It's like an awareness of the world with a mix of defiance and sadness. It's really very good thank you" - R.M. Sánchez-Camus
