The "Hate dress" is a nightmare to get into / out of an renders me practically imobile. So, I decided to take the dress out into the garden and put it on there, rather than trying to negotiate the stairs from my flat whilst my downstairs neighbour had builders coming in and out.
I love how varied the dress can appear, depending which direction you are looking at it and which particular panels are showing more prominently - it's almost like it has a life of its own.
Getting in and out of the dress is a two-person job and my Dad had to fasten me up at the back.
Dad's Photos
We had to take an obligatory Alba photo - which turned out dramatically wind-swept.
Social Media Response
The response to these photos when I posted them on my social media has been incredible, with over 19.8K impressions on Twitter, on Facebook there's been over 70 comments and 34 comments on my Instagram post, almost entirely supportive. I wasn't expecting such overwhelming support from my followers in the comments. There's only been a few negative / derogatory responses from some numbskulls who have seemed to entirely missed the point of the dress, such as 'it would look great on my bedroom floor', 'narcissist' and being told that I should ignore the trolls and not to 'wear my hate'.
