I was excited to be included in this online exhibition and publication on the topic of menstrual health and period equity, organised by the very talented Ally Zlatar of the Starving Artist.
The virtual exhibition is viewable here. I love how the interactive software allows you to move around the space like you would in a real-life gallery.
The post-industrial aesthetic of the space worked really well with the raw and "taboo" content.
I was really inspired to see all the different works which artists had created in response to the open call theme 'Blood Stains Like Ink'. I felt a bit bad for not spending more time on the piece I made, which is somewhat rudimentary - although, being honest with myself - I literally didn't have any more available time, as I had to squeeze the making session in between travel. I do like how the polymer clay IUD's turned out - but the tactile nature of the mixed media is much more impactful in-person. Nevertheless, I was really excited to be included in this group exhibition on such an important topic!
